Embossing Paste... teamed with Climbing Orchid, Eastern Palace and Bike ride stamp sets!

I've been having some fun of late with the NEW Embossing paste in the 2017/2018 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog.
I LOVE how easy it is to create either a subtle texture, or a real POP of colour (by adding re-inker)to your background.
You can even versa mark and heat emboss the paste (As I did in Carls Anniversary card- Happy 24th Anniversary babe!!) The stencils I have used in these 3 samples are from the Pattern Party decorative masks-theres also an AWESOME cloud stencil!! (well worth the very small $10 price tag!)
The embossing paste is only $11.50, and the Palette knives are $9-so if you consider the heat gun for heat embossing is $50- and you have to add embossing powder as well-Embossing Paste is a REALLY cheap way to add unbelievable texture to your projects for a very little cost!
you can buy stencils-but remember, any die cut is a stencil as well.... the eastern palace dies would provide AMPLE home made stencils for you to play with, if you wanted to hold back on getting any stencils for a while- they do double duty!

Tips and tricks-

  • Our Stampin Up silicone craft sheet (#127853) is a MUST-Its GREAT for mixing the paste with re-inkers to get gorgeous colours. Highly recommend getting one if you don't already!!
  • The Paste drys fairly quickly, so you don't ruin any stencils you might be using, its a great idea to have a tray nearby with a little water in it, that is  bigger than the stencils you plan to use so you can dunk the stencil, the palette knives and your silicone mat into so the embossing paste doesn't dry onto your new tools.
I LOVE this years Annual catalog, and I hope you do too-if you don't have one, feel free to browse the digital copy at the top of the page, OR feel free to email me HERE and I'll organise an annual catalog along with the up comping holiday catalog- coming out in just a couple of weeks!
I hope you find time to get creative this weekend!

  1. WOW Petra, each of these gorgeous designs are just stunning! I simply adore the bike card (make me wish I was retiring lol) and the way you had popped up the orchid petals has made your flower so realistic. And that medallion is just WOW, with the4 embossed embossing paste! Thank you so much for sharing these techniques and cards.
